03-LEARNING GERMAN WITH BEATHOL GLOBAL B1
German B1 Course Description
The German B1 course is designed for learners who have successfully completed the A2 level or possess equivalent German language skills. Following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), this course helps students transition from basic communication to independent language use, enabling them to communicate more confidently in everyday, academic, and professional situations.
Throughout the course, students expand their vocabulary and improve their ability to discuss familiar and unfamiliar topics such as work, education, travel, health, technology, media, culture, the environment, and social life. They learn to express opinions, describe experiences, explain plans, give reasons, make suggestions, and participate actively in conversations.
The course strengthens all four language skills:
- Speaking: Participate confidently in conversations, express opinions, describe experiences, and deliver short presentations.
- Listening: Understand the main ideas of conversations, announcements, interviews, podcasts, and everyday discussions spoken in clear standard German.
- Reading: Read and understand articles, emails, advertisements, reports, and other authentic texts while identifying key information and details.
- Writing: Produce clear emails, letters, messages, reports, and short essays using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
Grammar instruction focuses on developing greater accuracy and flexibility in communication. Students practice complex sentence structures, relative clauses, passive voice, Konjunktiv II (subjunctive), infinitive constructions, reflexive verbs, advanced prepositions, conjunctions, verb-preposition combinations, word order, and revision of German tenses including Perfekt, Präteritum, Futur I, and Plusquamperfekt.
The course uses interactive learning methods including classroom discussions, role-plays, pair and group work, listening activities, reading exercises, writing assignments, vocabulary building, grammar practice, and real-life communication tasks. Regular assessments, quizzes, homework, and mock examinations help learners monitor their progress and build confidence.
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to communicate independently in most everyday situations, understand the main points of clear spoken and written German, express opinions and experiences coherently, write well-structured texts, and prepare effectively for internationally recognized German language examinations such as the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 and other CEFR B1 examinations.
